DDR2 RAM - different speed

Dear PKP,

Welcome back after long silence,

I have 2 RAM s 1) Dynet 1GB DDR2 667 & 2) Transcend 512MB DDR2 533 in my system but System Properties show only 896MB of RAM and BIOS Setup detects only one RAM with the size 1024MB.

Can any one tell me what is the reason that my computer is not detecting both the RAM together? FYI, if I install the RAM one by one at a time my system detects it very well.

Dear Addul Gafoor,

Actually DDR or any kind of RAM's should not mixture different speed mhz.

For example DDR 533 512mb x 2 = 1 GB 533 mhz
DDR 533 512mb x 1 + DDR 800 mhz 512mb x 1 = DDR 533mhz 1GB

It wont works different family

Try to use always same kind ram MHZ SPEED and SIZE also

800 mhz 512mb 1x should use the same next pcs

Lucky your mother can able to work not make beep sound.
